2021 has been an unprecedented year for weddings, with Covid turning traditional weddings on their head. With all the changes facing couples, wedding styling in 2022 is all about versatile bridal wear and statement accessories. Weddings are no longer about large ceremonies, big guest lists and traditional styling. We’re seeing a playful, adventurous side to weddings with micro-weddings, intimate elopements and nature-themed nuptials taking centre stage.

For 2022, versatility will remain key, with many brides shunning more traditional gowns in favour of a less formal look to take you from wedding to afterparty. And so for once, wedding styling will no longer be all about the dress, but about the accessories. Classic, simple dresses and modern jumpsuits teamed with statement veils, playful prints, and versatile capes mean that no matter the size and shape of your wedding, you’ll be fashion-ready.

Colourful Florals

A wedding staple, florals have been taken to the next level with details like 3D flower appliqués (a la Claire Pettibone and Gracy Accad) and vibrant floral embroidery (think Temperley London) giving this established trend a gorgeous refresh. And, if a full-on coloured dress feels like a bit too much of a statement, go for a flowing floral veil to amp up your bridal wow factor.

The pandemic has given most of us time to re-connect with the natural world and this new-found love for nature will be reflected in wedding aesthetics and bridal wear. Think romantic blousy florals, earthy tones and whimsical wildflowers

Dramatic, statement veils are making a comeback. Lend a luxurious, romantic flair to your veil with appliques, embroidery and embellishments. Let your veil be the centrepiece of your wedding look and par down everything else

Celestial Vibes

Celestial wedding details have been shining bright as of late and this doesn’t look like its about to change any time soon. Star-adorned fabrics embellished with translucent sequins or glitter for a hint of shine let you dazzle like the night sky. Celestial hair accessories (who doesn’t love a cosmic hair crown?), star scattered veils, midnight blue colour tones and galaxy-inspired ceremony backdrops will have everyone starry-eyed at your heavenly nuptials

Bridal bows can give a playful feel to a shorter dress or can lend a dreamy, romantic quality to a more luxurious gown. Whatever your style, bow veils are a modern alternative to a traditional veil

Pearls have been popular in wedding dress design for a few seasons and have now made their way into the world of veils and accessories. Delicately placed pearls on hair accessories (a la Temperley London) or scattered on a flowing veil lend a luxurious, romantic feel to your bridal look

From the ultra galm to the delicate and ethereal, from cropped capelets to cathedral length showstoppers, bridal capes are hugely versatile and complement any style of dress. Whether you’re looking for added coverage or to make an all-out fashion statement, bridal capes share the same feminine, romantic qualities of a veil but are a modern, stylish alternative and leave your hair free for other accessories
